The DG-P1KL4/M gas detector is an advanced device designed for continuous monitoring of methane concentration in enclosed spaces. It utilizes a catalytic sensor, providing precise measurement up to 100% LEL (Lower Explosive Limit). The detector is a key element of the GAZEX Digital Gas Detection System, enabling a quick response to potential hazards and ensuring safety in industrial plants, logistics centers, and public utility facilities.

Functionality and application

The device not only measures methane concentration but also signals exceeding permissible norms using a built-in LED optical alarm. Alarm information is sent to the supervisory module via the RS-485 interface with the MODBUS RTU protocol, allowing for remote monitoring and control of the safety status. A replaceable sensor module facilitates maintenance and calibration, reducing operating costs.

Construction and characteristic features

The detector has been designed with reliability and ease of use in mind. It has a splash-proof housing made of high-impact ABS (IP44), which ensures resistance to harsh environmental conditions. Two cable glands facilitate connecting subsequent detectors to the network. A built-in microprocessor ensures stable operation and semi-automatic addressing in a digital network – without the need to open the housing. Additionally, the detector has a thermal compensation circuit and a history of alarm states, which facilitates event analysis and identification of potential problems. The power supply is 24V=. It is possible to configure the detector settings using dedicated configuration software „DETnet View”, available on the GAZEX website. All detectors are calibrated in their own GAZEX Calibrating Laboratory accredited according to PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 (PCA accreditation no. AP150), which guarantees measurement accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
