Methane detector for continuous hazard monitoring

The DG-P1KL4/MR gas detector is a device designed for continuous monitoring of methane concentration in various facilities – from industrial plants and logistics centers to public utility buildings. Its task is to quickly detect dangerous gas levels and alert when permissible norms are exceeded. This ensures the safety of people and property.

The detector uses a catalytic sensor, which is characterized by high sensitivity and reliability in detecting methane. Communication is via an RS-485 interface with the MODBUS RTU protocol, enabling easy integration with supervision and control systems. Two built-in relay contacts allow direct control of alarm devices or ventilation systems.

Functionality and application

The device is particularly useful in places where there is a risk of methane leakage, e.g. near gas installations, in warehouses with flammable materials or in enclosed spaces with limited air access. The ability to configure two alarm thresholds allows the detector to be adapted to specific working conditions and safety requirements.

It is worth emphasizing that the DG-P1KL4/MR detector has a replaceable sensor module, which facilitates maintenance and calibration of the device and reduces operating costs. Module replacement does not require specialized knowledge and can be performed independently by qualified personnel. In addition, all GAZEX detectors are calibrated in their own Calibrating Laboratory operating in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard (PCA accreditation No. AP150), which guarantees measurement accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.

Construction and user features

The detector has been designed with easy installation and operation in mind. It has screwless terminals, which allow quick and secure connection of FTP cables. Two cable glands facilitate connecting subsequent detectors in a network. The built-in microprocessor ensures stable and reliable operation of the device, and the thermal compensation circuit minimizes the impact of temperature changes on measurement accuracy. The alarm status history allows for event analysis and identification of potential hazards. The possibility of semi-automatic addressing in a digital network simplifies the configuration of the gas detection system. Detector settings are configured using dedicated configuration software „DETnet View”, available on the manufacturer's website.
