Gas detectors – reliable safety in any environment
Gas detectors of the DG-P series, including the DG-P4E/MR model, are devices designed for continuous monitoring of gas presence in rooms. Control is carried out by measuring the concentration of a given gas in the surrounding air. If defined alarm values are exceeded, the detector signals this visually and via built-in relays, and also transmits information to the central supervisory module via the RS-485 network. These devices are used in industrial plants, logistics centers and public utility facilities, where ensuring safety and rapid response to potential hazards is crucial.
DG-P4E/MR detectors are particularly useful where there is a risk of emission of toxic or explosive gases. Thanks to replaceable sensor modules, maintenance and calibration of the devices are simplified, and operating costs are reduced. It is worth emphasizing that these detectors are not intended for use in explosion-hazard zones.
Construction and functionality
The DG-P4E/MR detector is equipped with an electrochemical sensor, dedicated to measuring ammonia (NH3) in the range up to 1000 ppm. Communication is via the RS-485 port with the MODBUS RTU protocol, enabling integration with monitoring and control systems. Two programmable alarm thresholds and two built-in relays with NO/NC contacts provide configuration flexibility and rapid response to threats. Additionally, the detector has a history of alarm states and a semi-automatic addressing function in a digital network – all without the need to open the housing.
Screwless terminals facilitate the connection of FTP cables, and two cable glands enable easy connection of subsequent detectors in the system. The built-in microprocessor ensures stable and reliable operation of the device, and the thermal compensation circuit minimizes the impact of temperature changes on the accuracy of measurements. The detector is calibrated in its own GAZEX Calibrating Laboratory accredited in accordance with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 (PCA accreditation No. AP150), which guarantees high precision and reliability of measurements.
Advantages for installers and end users
- Easy installation and configuration: The modular design and intuitive “DETnet View” configuration software greatly simplify the installation and configuration process.
- Low operating costs: Replaceable sensor modules allow for quick replacement of damaged elements or adaptation of the detector to other applications without the need to replace the entire device.
- High reliability: The built-in microprocessor and thermal compensation circuit ensure stable and precise operation of the detector even in difficult environmental conditions.
- Flexibility: The ability to configure two alarm thresholds or measurement mode allows you to adapt the detector to specific user needs.
- Compatibility: RS-485 communication with the MODBUS RTU protocol enables easy integration with existing monitoring and control systems.
- Certified quality: Calibration in the GAZEX own Calibrating Laboratory guarantees high accuracy and reliability of measurements confirmed by PCA accreditation No. AP150 in accordance with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025.
