SF6 gas detector – precise control and safety
This gas detector is designed for continuous monitoring of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) concentration in various industrial and public utility facilities. It utilizes an optical sensor (Infra-Red), providing high measurement accuracy and fast response time. The device is a key element of gas detection systems, enabling early detection of potential hazards and minimizing risk.
Functionality and application
The DG-P6R7/M-SF6 detector works with a Digital Gas Detection System, transmitting information about the SF6 concentration to the supervisory module via the RS-485 interface with the MODBUS RTU protocol. This solution allows for central monitoring and control of multiple detectors in extensive facilities. The optical signaling integrated into the device informs about exceeding the permissible gas concentration levels.
The device finds application in:
- industrial plants where SF6 is used as an electrical insulator,
- logistics centers,
- public utility facilities,
- large rooms requiring SF6 concentration monitoring.
Construction and user features
The detector is characterized by a solid construction and a splash-proof housing (IP44) made of high-impact ABS, ensuring its reliability even in harsh environmental conditions. The replaceable sensor module facilitates maintenance and calibration, and also reduces operating costs. Two cable glands allow easy connection of subsequent detectors in the system. A built-in microprocessor ensures stable operation and semi-automatic addressing in the digital network without the need to open the housing. Additionally, the device has a thermal compensation circuit and a history of alarm states. Removable screwless terminals facilitate the connection of FTP cables. The ability to configure settings using the dedicated "DETnet View" software increases the device's flexibility. All detectors are calibrated in their own GAZEX Accredited Calibration Laboratory in accordance with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025.
The output is realized via standard RS-485, and alarm signaling is carried out using a built-in optical indicator. The device is powered by 24 V= and has dimensions of 110 x 140 x 55 mm.
The device is not intended for use in areas hazardous due to the explosion of gases, vapors or dust – it has a standard construction.
