Gas detectors – reliable monitoring of hydrogen presence

Digital detectors of the DG-P/M series, such as the DG-P7E/M model, are devices designed for continuous monitoring of gas concentrations in various spaces. Their main task is to measure the content of a given gas in the air and activate an alarm signal when permissible norms are exceeded. Alarm information is transmitted to the digital supervisory module via the RS-485 network. These detectors are used in industrial plants, logistics centers, public utility facilities, and large rooms where there is a risk of emission of toxic or explosive gases.

DG-P/M detectors are characterized by a modular design, allowing for easy replacement of sensor modules – semiconductor, electrochemical, or optical (Infra-Red). This feature simplifies maintenance, simplifies calibration, and reduces operating costs. Replacing the module also allows you to adapt the detector to specific application needs. These devices are equipped with a built-in microprocessor, which ensures reliable and stable operation, as well as semi-automatic addressing in the digital network without the need to open the housing. In addition, the thermal compensation system and alarm history increase the functionality of the detectors.

Application and construction features

The DG-P7E/M detector with an electrochemical sensor is designed to detect hydrogen in a concentration range of up to 1000 ppm. A splash-proof housing made of high-impact ABS (IP44) protects the device from moisture and mechanical damage. Two cable glands facilitate the connection of subsequent detectors in the system. Selective LED optical signaling informs about the operating state of the device. The detector has removable screwless terminals allowing connection of two FTP cables. The possibility of extending with an additional cover made of steel pipes (AR-1d) or a housing for the ventilation duct (DG/w version) and a relay output module (DG-P/MR) increases the flexibility of application. Configuration of settings is done using the dedicated "DETnet View" software. All detectors are calibrated in their own GAZEX Calibrating Laboratory accredited in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard (PCA accreditation No. AP150), which guarantees measurement accuracy.

• DG-P/M detectors work with the Digital Gas Detection System, enabling central supervision of many measurement points.
• Communication takes place via the RS-485 port with the MODBUS RTU protocol, which ensures easy integration with existing building or industrial automation systems.
• The devices cannot be used in areas classified as zones hazardous due to the explosion of gases, vapors or dusts – these are devices of conventional construction.
• The replaceable sensor module allows for quick and inexpensive calibration or replacement in case of damage or change of the measurement range.
• The detector is powered by 24V= voltage, which facilitates integration with existing electrical installations.
• The dimensions of the detector are 110 x 140 x 55 mm, and its weight is about 0.3 kg – compact dimensions facilitate mounting in various locations.
