Ammonia gas detector – reliable measurement in wastewater treatment plants
This gas detector is designed for continuous monitoring of ammonia concentration in the air, especially in the demanding conditions of wastewater treatment plants. The device uses an electrochemical sensor, providing high selectivity and measurement accuracy. This allows for quick detection of dangerous gas levels and response to potential hazards. The DG-PV4E2-Nstd detector is a key element of the safety system, protecting personnel and the environment.
Functionality and application
Detectors from the DG/PV series are universal measuring devices that find application in industry, laboratories and everywhere where monitoring of toxic gas concentrations is necessary. The DG-PV4E2-Nstd model, thanks to the use of a replaceable sensor module, can be adapted to various needs and installation specifications. Output signals of 4-20 mA and 2-10 V allow easy integration with existing control and alarm systems. The device is particularly useful in:
- Wastewater treatment plants – monitoring ammonia emissions during biological processes.
- Chemical industry – control of ammonia concentration in production processes.
- Warehouses and utility rooms – detection of ammonia leaks from refrigeration systems or fertilizer tanks.
- Agriculture – monitoring ammonia levels in livestock buildings.
Construction and user features
The DG-PV4E2-Nstd detector is distinguished by a solid construction and a number of functions facilitating installation and operation. The built-in optical signaling (two LEDs) informs about exceeding the permissible concentration limits of the gas, failures and the need for device calibration. Removable terminals facilitate connection of wires, and the splash-proof housing (IP44) provides protection against moisture and dirt. Additional benefits include:
- Replaceable sensor: Allows for quick replacement of a damaged sensor without the need to replace the entire detector – reducing operating costs.
- Two signal outputs: 4-20 mA and 2-10 V ensure compatibility with various control systems.
- Thermal compensation: Ensures measurement accuracy even at variable ambient temperatures.
- Built-in signaling: Informs about the device status and exceeding alarm concentration thresholds.
- Expandability: The possibility of mounting a mechanical cover or a duct housing increases resistance to mechanical damage and weather conditions.
- Calibration: All detectors are factory calibrated in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard by the accredited GAZEX laboratory (PCA No. AP150).
The device is powered by 24 V= voltage and its dimensions are 110 x 140 x 55 mm, which allows for easy mounting in various locations. The electrochemical sensor provides measurement in the range of 0 ÷ 100 ppm ammonia (NH3).
