The WG-61.EGx/A gas detector is an autonomous device designed for continuous monitoring of refrigerant presence (HFCs, e.g., Freons) in enclosed spaces. Its function is to monitor the gas concentration in the air and activate an audible and visual alarm when defined thresholds are exceeded. The device is particularly useful where refrigerant leaks may occur, which is crucial for protecting health and the environment.

Application and areas of use

The WG-61.EGx/A detector is widely used in places where air conditioning, cooling, or heat pump systems are used. It is suitable for:

• refrigeration machine rooms (including agricultural farms),
• cold storage rooms for food storage,
• rooms with air conditioning and refrigeration equipment,
• workshops servicing refrigeration equipment.

Correct detector placement is key to its effectiveness. It should be mounted on the wall, no more than 30 cm above the floor (due to the higher density of refrigerants), near a potential leak source, but away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.

Construction and functionality

The WG-61.EGx/A detector is characterized by a solid construction and ease of use. It has a built-in microprocessor that ensures stable operation, temperature compensation, and the ability to read event history. The replaceable gas sensor allows for quick and inexpensive replacement of the measuring element without the need to disassemble the entire device. The device has three programmable alarm thresholds and three NO-type relay outputs, enabling integration with ventilation control systems or other safety devices. Additionally, the detector is equipped with a built-in audible alarm and the ability to connect an external 12V=/80mA siren to increase alarm effectiveness. The detector housing is splash-proof (IP54), ensuring its reliability even in harsh environmental conditions. Optical signaling indicates normal status (green LED), fault status (yellow LED), and alarm states (red LEDs A1, A2, A3).
