Carbon dioxide detector – reliable safety and control

The WG-8R8.Fx/A-Nstd gas detector is an autonomous device designed for continuous monitoring of carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration in rooms. It uses an optical infrared sensor, providing precise and fast measurement. The device is particularly useful in places where control of CO2 levels is crucial for safety and comfort, such as boiler rooms, cold storage rooms, underground parking lots, or machine rooms.

Functionality and application

The WG-8R8.Fx/A-Nstd detector is not only a measuring device but a comprehensive alarm system. It has three programmable alarm thresholds, optical signaling (multicolored LED lamp), and acoustic signaling (built-in sounder). The built-in event history facilitates analysis and diagnosis of potential problems. This allows the installer to quickly identify the source of the problem, and the end-user to be sure that the system is working correctly. The device finds application in:

• closed garages and underground parking lots – ventilation control;
• solid fuel boiler rooms – monitoring CO2 levels;
• cold storage rooms for food products – ensuring proper storage conditions;

Construction and characteristics

The detector has been designed with ease of installation and use in mind. The one-piece construction integrates the sensor, control unit, optical and acoustic signaling, and alarm outputs into a single housing. Removable terminals allow connection of single- and multi-strand wires without the need for ferrules. Additionally, the device has a 12 V=/100 mA alarm output for connecting an external signaling device (e.g., SL-32). A splash-proof gas sensor cover (IP44) provides protection against moisture and dirt. The possibility of mounting a mechanical cover AR-1 increases resistance to mechanical damage in places exposed to vandalism or intensive use. The detector is powered by 24 V= voltage. The dimensions of the device are 110 x 140 x 55 mm, allowing for discreet mounting in various locations.
