MR2 output module for DG/M
Relay output module for gas detectors DG/M
This module extends the functionality of gas detectors from the DG/M series by adding two relays with NO/NC contacts. This allows for direct control of external alarm devices or ventilation systems in the event of a dangerous gas concentration. The MR2 module is removable, allowing it to be retrofitted to existing DG/M detectors at any time – a simple upgrade that significantly increases the capabilities of the detection system.
Functionality and application
The MR2 module is designed to work with DG/M detectors, providing additional relay outputs for alarm signaling or activation of other safety systems. Its design allows for easy installation and replacement, and the presence of two relays provides flexibility in system configuration. This makes it possible to integrate the detector with the existing infrastructure of a building or industrial plant.
- Flexibility: Possibility of retrofitting existing DG/M detectors without the need to replace the entire device.
- Direct control: Two relays with NO/NC contacts allow direct control of external devices.
- System integration: Easy integration with alarm systems, ventilation systems and BMS (Building Management System).
- Alarm signaling: Provides reliable alarm signaling in the event of a hazard.
- Simple installation: Removable design facilitates module mounting and replacement.
Construction and compatibility
The MR2 module is mounted internally in the housing of the DG/M detector. Its operation does not affect the accuracy of the detector's measurements – it retains all its measurement properties. The module is compatible with various types of sensors used in DG/M detectors (semiconductor, electrochemical and optical). In combination with the dedicated DETnet View software, available on the manufacturer's website, precise adjustment of alarm thresholds via computer is possible. A block diagram of the gas detection system shows how the MR2 module integrates with other system elements, such as power supplies, visualization modules and audible-visual signaling devices.
