MS-12.DK GAZEX Methan Sensor Module
MS‑12.DK Sensory Module – Methane Detection in Practice
The MS‑12.DK module is a semiconductor sensor designed for methane (CH₄) detection in domestic and industrial installations. Thanks to its built-in microprocessor, it not only measures gas concentration but also records alarm history, operating time in alarm state, and any measurement range exceedances. This enables both the installer and the end user to quickly diagnose the causes of events and take appropriate actions.
- Replacement and calibration without disassembly – the module can be removed from the detector for calibration or replaced with a pre-calibrated unit without interrupting the operation of the entire system.
- Flexibility when changing substances – when switching to another type of gas (e.g., LPG or freons), it is sufficient to replace only the module, significantly reducing downtime and lowering modernization costs.
- Recording of operational parameters – the number of alarms, duration of alarm states, and fault information are stored in the processor memory, facilitating subsequent analysis and optimization of settings.
Benefits for Installers and Users
- Simple integration – the module is compatible with all detectors from the DK‑nn series (e.g., DK‑12, DK‑12.P, DK‑12.Z), eliminating the need for additional adapters.
- Reliable protection – a threshold alarm level of 15% LEL ensures rapid detection of dangerous methane concentrations, while built-in optical and acoustic signals immediately indicate a hazard.
- Minimal operating costs – replacing only the sensor instead of the entire detector saves both installation time and expenses for spare parts.
- Compliance with standard PN‑EN 50194‑1:2009 – the product meets European requirements for explosive gas detection, ensuring the legality of the installation.
Practical Applications
The MS‑12.DK module is suitable for:
- oil and gas boiler rooms,
- kitchens and bathrooms with open burners,
- technical rooms (basements, corridors, garages),
- school laboratories and any location where methane leakage risk exists.
Thanks to the possibility of connecting an additional siren or a control output for a shut-off valve (in DK‑12.Z detector versions), the system can automatically cut off the gas supply upon detection of a dangerous concentration. This solution enhances safety in both private homes and industrial facilities.
