MS-14.EG GAZEX Methane selective sensor module

The MS-14.EG sensory module is a replaceable methane detection unit designed for operation in autonomous GAZEX detectors. Its main advantage is the ability to perform a quick, tool-free replacement without the need to disassemble the entire device – significantly reducing service time and lowering operating costs.

Module replacement does not require system calibration from scratch. Each module stores a work history in memory: the number of alarms, operating time in fault conditions, and measurement range exceedances. This allows the installer to assess the detector's operating conditions and decide whether the sensor still meets requirements or if it is worth replacing it with another type, e.g., after a technology change at the facility.

The module uses a semiconductor sensor selectively responsive to methane (CH₄). It operates in the range of 5–40% LEL, with three preset alarm thresholds: 10%, 20%, and 30% LEL. Manual calibration is not required – everything is handled automatically by the built-in processor with temperature compensation.

It is a component dedicated to the WG-14.EGx and WG-14.EG systems, as well as their 12 V DC or 24 V DC powered versions. All these detectors share the same construction: an IP54 splash-proof enclosure, built-in optical and acoustic signaling, and three NO contact outputs – which can control ventilation, valves, or external sirens.

Module installation is simple – just remove the old one and insert the new one. There are no cables to connect or settings to configure. This is a solution for those who want to ensure that the methane detection system remains effective throughout the life of the installation – without the need to replace the entire device.

All MS-14.EG modules are calibrated in GAZEX's own laboratory in accordance with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025.
