Alarm measurement module – comprehensive protection and gas control

The MDP-8/M measurement alarm module is an advanced device designed to work with various types of gas detectors, providing reliable control and power supply in detection systems. The device is used in both two-threshold systems and active gas installation safety systems, offering flexibility and versatility. The module allows monitoring up to eight detectors simultaneously, making it an ideal solution for extended installations.

Functionality and capabilities

MDP-8/M works with measurement detectors (DEX/P, DG/P) and threshold detectors (DEX/F, DEX/A, DG/F, DG.EN), as well as contact detectors (using K-8P and K-16P concentrators). A key feature is the control of the current drawn by individual detectors – in the event of a failure, the power supply is automatically disconnected for the faulty detector, without affecting the others. Additionally, the module monitors the status of the wired connection with the detectors, ensuring complete diagnostics of the installation status.

The module offers advanced alarm configuration options for measurement detectors – three alarm levels (A1, A2, A3) and two levels for threshold detectors (A1, A2). The ability to calculate the weighted average of NDS and NDSCh for toxic gases and select measurement units (%, DGW, mA, ppm) increases precision and adaptation to specific needs. Division into two zones (S1 and S2) allows controlling various external devices depending on the location of the alarm.

The MDP…Z… module version allows controlling two shut-off valves and monitoring their wired connection. Additional operating modes are also available: “QUIET OPERATION”, “SERVICE MODE” and “AUTO RESET”, increasing user comfort and configuration flexibility.

Communication and integration

The module is equipped with an RS-485 communication port compliant with the MODBUS RTU protocol, enabling integration with building management systems and data visualization on a PC computer using MD16 View software. It also has alarm inputs for cooperation with additional devices and relay outputs for controlling fans, motors or acoustic and optical signaling devices. It provides reliable acoustic and optical signaling through a built-in siren and LED lamps.
