Precision 45° elbow for sanitary and industrial installations

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl 45° elbow is a fitting designed to create gentle changes in direction in stainless steel pipelines. The nominal diameter DN 15 (18 mm) makes it suitable for both compact residential installations and large-scale industrial systems.

The product is made of chrome-nickel-molybdenum steel 1.4401 (AISI 316) - a corrosion-resistant material that maintains tightness even in aggressive chemical environments. The wall thickness at both ends is 1 mm, ensuring high mechanical strength at a working pressure of up to 16 bar (at 20°C).

Press connection technology

The elbow is equipped with press sockets featuring an M-jaw profile - a standard profile used throughout the Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system. Installation consists of inserting the pipe into the socket and performing the pressing using automatic or semi-automatic press tools. The connection only becomes leak-proof after correct pressing - before this step is performed, the fitting is not leak-tight, which eliminates the risk of accidental system startup.

A significant installation convenience is the press indicator - a built-in indicator informing about the connection status. A transparent protective cap covering the socket during transport protects the seal from contamination until the moment of installation.

Scope of applications and operating conditions

Seals made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) allow for operation across a wide temperature range:

• Drinking water - cold and hot domestic water installations
• Heating agents - boiler water, glycol antifreeze mixtures
• District heating networks - medium temperature up to 120°C
• Saturated steam - up to 120°C
• Process water, treated water, and technological water
• Rainwater and wastewater (grey and black) with pH ≥ 6.0
• Compressed air - oil cleanliness class 0-3
• Inert gases (e.g., nitrogen), industrial gases (e.g., acetylene), welding shielding gases
• Chemicals and industrial media

The fitting also performs well as a component of sprinkler systems and as a water supply for fire extinguishing devices.

CrNiMo stainless steel is classified as a fire-resistant class A1 material according to the DIN 4102-1 standard - non-combustible, not transmitting fire or smoke further than the combustible material itself. Thanks to its high tensile strength, the elbow transfers mechanical loads typical for pipelines operating under pressure without the risk of deformation or cracking.
