Geberit Mapress Stainless Steel Elbow: 45°, d=28mm 30605
System elbow for pressure installations
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl 45° elbow is a fitting designed to create gentle changes in direction for pipelines made in the steel pipe system. Thanks to the 45° angle, it enables smooth routing of the pipeline where a sharp bend is not possible or would require excessive stress on the pipe walls.
Both ends are manufactured as compression sleeves with an M-contour - the same jaw profile applies to the entire Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system in this size. The outer diameter is 28 mm, which corresponds to the nominal size DN 25. The working length of each connection is 14 mm, and the total connection length is 37 mm - dimensions critical when planning alignment and pipe insertion before pressing.
Material and corrosion resistance
The body is made of chrome-nickel-molybdenum steel designated as 1.4401 (AISI 316). This alloy contains molybdenum, which increases resistance to pitting corrosion in chloride environments - making it ideal for drinking water installations as well as industrial and marine applications. The connection wall thickness is 1,2 mm, ensuring high mechanical strength while maintaining an optimal component mass.
The seal, made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber), is factory-installed in both sleeves. CIIR material withstands contact with hot and cold drinking water as well as many industrial media well - details regarding medium compatibility can be found in the Geberit system documentation.
Press system and safety mechanism
A key feature of Geberit Mapress fittings is the „unverpresst undicht" principle - a connection without a completed press remains leaky. This means the installer immediately sees locations where the pressing has not yet been performed correctly. In practice, this eliminates the risk of accidentally omitting a section of the installation.
The sleeves are fitted with a transparent protective cap, which protects the seal from contamination and damage during transport and storage prior to installation. Additionally, the component is equipped with a press indicator - a characteristic design detail of the Mapress system that informs of the correct positioning of the press jaws.
The maximum working pressure at 20°C is 16 bar, allowing the elbow to be used in both typical domestic installations (potable water, heating) and larger industrial or central heating systems.
Scope of applications
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl DN25/d28 elbow is designed for a wide spectrum of media:
- Drinking water - hot and cold
- Heating water and central heating network water
- Chilled water (with and without anti-freeze agents)
- Rainwater with pH ≥ 6,0
- Grey and black water with pH ≥ 6,0
- Fire couplings (wet), sprinkler installations
- Saturated steam up to 120°C
- Compressed air (oil cleanliness class 0-3)
- Inert gases (e.g., nitrogen), industrial welding gases
- Chemicals and technical fluids - according to the system compatibility table
It is used in sanitary technology for residential and public buildings, as well as in industrial and marine installations - where the corrosion resistance of austenitic steel and the reliability of mechanical connections are required.
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system based on 1.4401 steel is characterized by a fire resistance class of A1 according to DIN 4102-1 and high tensile strength - as confirmed by the parameter Wysoka wytrzymałość na rozciąganie: true in the ETIM classification.
