Precision press elbow for sanitary installations

A fitting with a 90° angle from the Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system with an outer diameter of 28 mm (DN 25). It is used to change the direction of the pipeline route in installations performed using press connection technology - without welding or soldering.

Material and operating parameters

The body is made of CrNiMo 1.4401 stainless steel (DIN EN 10088), the same class used in the marine and chemical industries. The connection wall thickness is 1.2 mm, ensuring high mechanical strength while maintaining compact dimensions.

Medium temperature range: from -20°C to +120°C. Maximum working pressure at 20°C is 16 bar, allowing for use in typical drinking water, heating, and industrial installations.

The seal is made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) - resistant to aging and a wide range of media.

Applications

The Mapress Edelstahl system is dedicated to:

• drinking water - cold and hot,
• heating and cooling water - both with and without antifreeze additives,
• mains water (≤120°C),
• saturated steam,
• process and treated waters,
• rainwater as well as grey and black water (at pH >6.0),
• fire protection and sprinkler water,
• compressed air (oil cleanliness class 0-3),
• vacuum and inert gases (e.g., nitrogen),
• industrial gases - acetylene, shielding gases for welding,
• chemical and technical media.

The fitting is suitable for residential buildings, industrial facilities, and shipyards.

Installation and connection characteristics

Both ends of the elbow are press sockets with an M-profile groove - compatible with the pressing jaws of the same system. The working length of each connection is 34 mm, with a total connection length of 57 mm.

A key element is the press indicator - during pressing, the pressing element creates a tight seal around the gasket. Before the connection is made, the elbow remains non-leakproof - this is a deliberate solution that allows for easy corrections during the installation stage without the risk of permanently closing inaccurately fitted components.

The coupling is equipped with a transparent protective cap, which protects the interior of the fitting from contamination during transport and storage on the construction site.

The connection is made using press tools - quickly, cleanly, and without open flames. Eliminating welding shortens working time and reduces fire risk in the installation.
