Precise 90° Elbow for Sanitary Installations

Geberit Mapress elbow made of stainless steel 316 (grade 1.4401 according to DIN EN 10088) is used to change the direction of the pipe at a right angle in installations using the Mapress press-fit system. The outer diameter of 35 mm corresponds to the nominal size DN 32, making it compatible with standard pipes of this system.

Double-sided press-socket (pressmuffe) connections with M contour enable quick press-fitting installation - without welding or soldering. Each connection has a total length of 68 mm and a working length of 42 mm, ensuring stable seating in the pipe. The wall thickness at both ends is 1.5 mm.

Construction and Technical Characteristics

The elbow body is made of CrNiMo stainless steel, resistant to corrosion under humidity conditions typical for sanitary installations. The gasket made of chlorobutadiene rubber (CIIR) - in black color - is factory-mounted and ensures the connection is sealed after proper pressing.

The element is equipped with a press indicator - a characteristic protrusion on the socket that indicates proper connection execution. Until the pressing is performed, the connection remains unsealed - this is an intentional solution that enforces quality control of the installation at every stage.

The maximum working pressure at 20°C is 16 bar. This parameter allows the use of the elbow in both domestic and medium-scale industrial installations.

Range of Applications

The elbow is suitable for a wide range of media:

• Drinking water - cold and hot,
• Cooling water and central heating water (also with anti-freeze additives),
• District heating water up to 120°C,
• Saturated steam up to 120°C,
• Process and treated water,
• Rainwater and domestic wastewater with pH above 6.0,
• Sprinkler and fire protection systems (water mist),
• Compressed air (oil purity class 0-3),
• Inert gases (e.g. nitrogen), industrial gases - acetylene, shielding gases for welding,
• Chemicals and technical media.

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system is used in residential construction, industrial facilities, and shipbuilding. Thanks to high tensile strength, the element maintains structural continuity even under mechanical loads.

Installation and Use

Proper press jaws with M profile are required for correct connection execution - standard in the Mapress system. The transparent protective cap on the socket protects the gasket from contamination during transport and storage before installation.

The elbow is delivered factory-capped, eliminating the risk of contamination entering the interior before installation. The surface of the elements remains raw (without additional treatment), which is standard for this type of system fittings - any corrosion protection or thermal insulation is applied later to the entire installation.

The product is part of a closed system - requires the use of Geberit Mapress pipes and fittings with the same M contour and nominal diameter DN 32 / ø35 mm to maintain full tightness and pressure parameters.
