Professional reducing connection for sanitary and industrial installations
The Geberit Mapress reducer made of CrNiMo 1.4401 (EN 10088) stainless steel is used for a smooth transition between pipes of different diameters in installation systems. The model identified by catalog number 32307 performs a reduction from DN 25 (28 mm) to DN 12 (15 mm) in a single compact element - eliminating the need for additional transitions or intermediate fittings.
Design and construction
The element is made of high-grade 316 (1.4401) stainless steel, which ensures corrosion resistance in water and industrial environments. The reducer has a straight shape - both sides are axial, which facilitates pipe routing and minimizes pressure losses in this section of the installation.
The main side connection consists of a press sleeve with an M-jaw profile - a standard type used in the Geberit Mapress system. The reduced side is a socket end, allowing the insertion of a smaller diameter pipe without the need for additional fastening. This makes installation fast and does not require specialized welding tools.
The element is equipped with a seal made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber), which ensures connection tightness at a working pressure of up to 16 bar at a temperature of 20°C. The surfaces of both ends remain in a raw state - without additional processing or protective coatings, which is a standard solution for this type of system fitting.
Application and medium compatibility
The reducer belongs to the Geberit Mapress Edelstahl product family designed for a wide spectrum of media:
- cold and hot water,
- water for cooling and heating - both with and without anti-freeze additives,
- saturated steam at temperatures up to 120°C,
- rainwater with pH ≥ 5.5 as well as raw water and sewage with pH ≥ 5.5,
- sprinkler systems - wet and dry,
- fire protection networks,
- compressed air (oil cleanliness class 0-3),
- industrial gases, including acetylene and shielding gases for welding,
- inert gases e.g. nitrogen,
- chemical products and technical liquids,
- vacuum installations.
The CIIR seal material was selected for chemical resistance - it performs well in typical water and gas installation conditions. In the case of aggressive chemical media or elevated operating temperatures, it is recommended to verify the compatibility of sealing materials with the manufacturer's technical documentation.
Installation and operational parameters
The reducer has a total length of 66 mm. The main side (press sleeve) has a connection length of 27 mm with a working length of 20 mm and a wall thickness of 1.2 mm. The reduced side (socket end) is characterized by a connection length of 39 mm, a working length of 20 mm, and a wall thickness of 1.0 mm. The maximum working pressure at 20°C is 16 bar.
The reducer does not have an air vent or a drain valve - it is a solid element, capped on the reduction side. The absence of moving parts makes the construction mechanically durable and requires no maintenance during operation.
The Geberit Mapress system based on compression jaws enables connections to be made on the construction site without welding - a significant advantage during the modernization of existing installations or work in enclosed spaces. The M profile is a widely used standard, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of jaws available on the market.
