Professional reducing connection for sanitary and industrial installations
The Geberit Mapress Stainless Steel reducer with a push-on end enables a smooth transition between pipes with diameters of 28 mm (DN 25) and 22 mm (DN 20) within a single piping system. Thanks to the use of 316 (1.4401) stainless steel - a CrNiMo grade - the component is suitable for both domestic installations and demanding industrial and marine applications.
Construction and materials
The reducer body is made of 316 stainless steel, which features enhanced corrosion resistance compared to standard austenitic grades. This is due to a higher molybdenum content - this element significantly improves resistance to chlorides and aggressive media, which is particularly important in industrial and marine installations.
The product is equipped with a CIIR seal (chlorobutadiene rubber), which ensures a leak-proof connection even during the assembly phase - before crimping. The wall thickness of both ends is 1.2 mm, guaranteeing high mechanical strength for the entire component.
The reducer has a straight shape, a total length of 60 mm, and is factory-sealed with a transparent protective cap on the press fitting.
Geberit Mapress connection system
The M type connection (round profile) is compatible with standard crimping jaws used in the Geberit Mapress system. Installation involves inserting the pipe into the push-on end to a depth of 33 mm, placing the fitting on the other end of the pipe, and crimping with the jaws - without welding, brazing, or threading.
Before crimping, the component remains leak-proof thanks to the CIIR seal seated in the fitting. Once correctly crimped, a durable, seamless connection is achieved that requires no maintenance or additional sealing. The maximum working pressure at 20°C is 16 bar, allowing the reducer to be used in typical water and central heating installations.
For the installer, this means fast installation even in tight spaces - the total working length of the connection is only 60 mm.
Scope of applications
The Geberit Mapress reducing connector is designed for many types of media:
- Potable water - cold and hot domestic water installations
- Heating and cooling - heating and cooling circuits, including those with antifreeze additives
- District heating - district heating networks up to a temperature of ≤120°C
- Saturated steam - up to 120°C
- Rainwater and greywater - at pH >6.0
- Fire water - sprinkler and fire extinguishing systems (wet)
- Compressed air - oil cleanliness class 0-3
- Inert gases - e.g., nitrogen; industrial gases such as acetylene or shielding gases for welding
- Chemicals and technical fluids
- Vacuum
The component is used in residential and commercial construction, industry, and marine structures.
