The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducer is a component of a press-fit steel pipe system that enables a smooth transition between two diameters in a single connection. The reduction with dimensions 35 × 15 mm (DN 32 × DN 12) is ideal anywhere a pipeline cross-section needs to be changed without additional adapters - which simplifies the entire conduit route and limits the number of potential leak points.

The use of M profile for crimping jaws means compatibility with widely used Mapress tools. The assembly process consists of inserting the pipe into the socket until it stops and crimping it with a press tool - a transparent protective cap protects the seal from contamination during transport and storage.

Construction and materials

The reducer body is made of 316 stainless steel (1.4401 / CrNiMo) - a corrosion-resistant chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy. The walls have a thickness of 1.5 mm on the press-fit socket side and 1 mm on the insertion end side.

The element possesses high tensile strength - a crucial parameter under axial stresses occurring during installation and operation of the system.

Operating parameters and range of applications

A maximum working pressure of 16 bar at a temperature of 20°C allows the reducer to be used in both central heating installations (typically up to 3-4 bar) and industrial installations with higher parameters. A total length of 75 mm with both working ends measuring 20 mm provides sufficient margin for correct pipe seating before crimping.

The reducer is suitable for sanitary, heating, and air conditioning systems - anywhere the design requires a transition from a larger diameter to a smaller one. The seal made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) ensures a durable connection seal even during many years of operation.
