Geberit Mapress stainless steel reducer with socket end: d=35mm, d1=28mm 32313
Professional reducing connector for sanitary and industrial installations
The Geberit Mapress reducer made of CrNiMo 316 (1.4401) stainless steel enables smooth transition between pipes with outer diameters of 35 mm (press fitting socket side) and 28 mm (push-in end side). Thanks to the M contour, it fits standard Mapress system pressing jaws - the installer does not need dedicated tools or specialized equipment.
The construction with a total length of 68 mm ensures stable connection while maintaining compact dimensions. The wall thickness at the larger connection is 1.5 mm, and at the smaller one 1.2 mm, which translates into high mechanical strength of the entire component. Maximum working pressure of 16 bar at 20°C allows use in typical drinking water installations, central heating systems and industrial circuits.
Connection system and leak-tightness
The press fitting socket is equipped factory-installed with a CIIR gasket - no separate mounting or lubrication before pressing is required. The push-in end side has a working length of 37 mm, which ensures sufficient pipe insertion depth and connection stability.
The key solution is the press indicator - a characteristic element of the Geberit Mapress system that confirms a properly made connection. If the fitting remains unpressed, it will leak - which eliminates the risk of hidden installation errors during pressure tests or when handing over the installation for use. The transparent protective cap on the socket protects the gasket from contamination during transport and storage on the construction site.
Application range and media compatibility
The component performs well in both domestic and commercial installations (building services), as well as in industrial facilities and on ships - the manufacturer declares full type approval for these three sectors.
| Medium | Parameter range |
|---|---|
| Drinking water (cold and hot) | No restrictions |
| Cooling and heating water | With or without antifreeze |
| District heating water | ≤120°C |
| Saturated steam | ≤120°C |
| Process and treated water | pH >6.0 |
| Rainwater | pH >6.0 |
| Grey and black water | pH >6.0 |
| Firefighting water / sprinklers | Wet |
| Compressed air | Oil purity class 0-3 |
| Vacuum | Yes |
| Inert gases (e.g. nitrogen) | Yes |
| Industrial gases (e.g. acetylene) | Yes |
The CIIR gasket material tolerates contact with most of the technical media listed above well - however, before use in a specific industrial installation, it is advisable to verify compatibility with aggressive chemicals based on the manufacturer's technical data sheet.
Material and construction durability
Stainless steel grade 316 (1.4401) provides enhanced corrosion resistance - particularly important for water installations and in humid or marine environments. The surface of both ends remains raw (without additional treatment).
The component has high tensile strength - this parameter results directly from the Geberit Mapress system fitting construction, where the connection does not constitute a structural weakening of the pipeline.
The reducer is a system component of Geberit Mapress - to achieve full leak-tightness and the manufacturer's warranty, it must be used together with pipes and other fittings from the same product family, and pressing jaws with M contour matched to the respective nominal diameter (DN32/DN25) must be used.
