Professional pipe connection for sanitary and industrial installations
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducer is a reduction element made of 1.4401 (316) grade stainless steel, designed for a smooth transition between pipes of different diameters. The product is equipped with a compression fitting on the larger side (54 mm / DN50) and a spigot end on the smaller side (18 mm / DN15), allowing for flexible connection of piping systems within a single connection set.
Construction and materials
Both ends of the reducer are made of high-grade CrNiMo stainless steel in accordance with the EN 10088 standard. The wall thickness of the larger connection is 1.5 mm, while the smaller one is 1 mm. This gradation results directly from the difference in diameters and ensures the maintenance of pressure parameters at both ends of the element.
The seal is made of chlorobutadiene rubber (CIIR), which is characterized by good resistance to aging and atmospheric factors. The product comes factory-fitted with seals - no additional accessories are required during installation.
The design of the reducer is simple, which facilitates the routing of conduits in typical installation paths. The total length is 96 mm, with the compression connection length being 41.5 mm and the spigot end being 54.5 mm.
Operating parameters and system compatibility
The maximum working pressure at a temperature of 20°C is 16 bar, allowing the reducer to be used in typical drinking water installations and sprinkler systems. The product belongs to the Geberit Mapress system - both connections support the M compression profile, meaning compatibility with standard compression jaws used in this system.
The reducer works well as an adaptive element between larger manifolds or main lines (DN50) and smaller branches (DN15). Typical applications include:
- drinking water installations,
- sprinkler systems,
- expansion or modernization of existing piping networks,
- connections of devices with different connections.
Quality and durability of workmanship
316 stainless steel provides increased corrosion resistance compared to 304 type steels - which is particularly important in installations exposed to moisture or contact with aggressive media. The manufacturer provides a 10-year warranty on Mapress Edelstahl system elements.
The factory raw surface finish eliminates additional processing steps before assembly - the element is ready for installation immediately after unpacking. High tensile strength confirms the ability to withstand mechanical loads typical for medium and high-pressure piping installations.
