Professional stainless steel reducing connection
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducer enables a smooth transition between pipes of different diameters in sanitary and heating installations made of stainless steel. On one side, there is a press sleeve for connection to a pipe with an outer diameter of 54 mm (DN50), and on the other, a press socket adapted for a 35 mm (DN32) pipe. The total length of the component is 106 mm, allowing for compact installation even in areas with limited space.
Both connections are made of 1.4401 (CrNiMo) grade stainless steel in accordance with the DIN EN 10088 standard - the same material used throughout the Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system. The wall thickness at both ends is 1.5 mm, which ensures uniform mechanical strength of the entire reducing connection and eliminates the risk of weakening at the point of diameter change.
Sealing and operating characteristics
The component is equipped with a black seal made of chlorobutadiene rubber (CIIR) seated in the press sleeve. This seal guarantees tightness after correct pressing of the fitting with Profile M system jaws - the same jaw profile used for all Geberit Mapress installation elements.
An important feature of the system is the behavior of the connection before pressing - it is leaky, which signals to the installer the need to complete the installation and prevents accidental closing of the circuit with an insufficiently pressed fitting.
The press sleeve is supplied with a transparent plastic protective cap covering the seal during transport and storage - it must be removed immediately before installation.
Scope of application and operating parameters
The reducer is intended for installation in construction technology, industrial facilities, and on ships - anywhere where high corrosion resistance and reliability of stainless steel pipe connections are required.
The working pressure at a temperature of 20°C reaches 16 bar, allowing for use in typical central heating installations and domestic water networks. The high tensile strength of the material ensures the durability of the connection even under mechanical loads occurring during operation.
The working lengths of the connections (26 mm on both sides) allow for secure seating of the pipes in the fitting without the need for additional supports or bypasses in standard pipe routes.
