Geberit Mapress stainless steel reducer with press end: d=54mm, d1=42mm 32324

Precise Transition Between Diameters in Sanitary and Industrial Installations

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducer is a reducing fitting made of CrNiMo 1.4401 stainless steel (equivalent to AISI 316), which enables a smooth transition between pipes with an outer diameter of 54 mm and 42 mm. The product combines a press socket on the DN50 side with a press connector on the DN40 side - this connection arrangement allows for flexible selection of installation methods depending on site conditions.

With a total length of 92 mm and long press sockets (30 mm on both sides), the reducer ensures stable, axial pipe connection without the need for additional support elements. The wall thickness of both ends is 1.5 mm, which guarantees high mechanical strength of the entire assembly.

Material and Pressure Resistance

Stainless steel 316 features enhanced resistance to crevice and pitting corrosion - this is important for pipe connections where moisture and deposits can accumulate at contact points. The manufacturer specifies a maximum working pressure at 20°C at 16 bar, which allows the reducer to be used in both typical domestic installations and industrial environments with higher requirements.

The seal made of chlorobutadiene rubber (CIIR) ensures leak-tightness of the pressed connection throughout the entire service life of the system. If a connection is unintentionally left without pressing, the joint remains leaking - this is an intentional safety mechanism that enforces proper installation.

Wide Range of Applications

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system is designed for operation with various media:

  • Drinking water - cold and hot domestic water installations,
  • Heating media - water-based central heating systems, also with glycol additive,
  • Process water - process and treated waters,
  • District heating - up to 120°C,
  • Saturated steam - up to 120°C,
  • Compressed air - oil purity classes 0-3,
  • Inert gases - nitrogen and other technical gases,
  • Rainwater and greywater - at pH >6.0,
  • Firefighting agents - sprinkler systems and fire hydrant networks.

The reducer is suitable for both residential and commercial construction as well as industrial applications and shipbuilding.

Press-Fit System Without Welding

The reducer is installed using the press method - simply push the pipe into the press connector or press socket and perform the pressing using M-profile jaws. This technology eliminates the need for welding or soldering, which significantly reduces installation time and minimizes the risk of installation errors. The built-in press indicator signals locations where the connection has not yet been made - each socket is factory-sealed with a transparent protective cap protecting the seal from contamination before installation.
