Tee for sanitary and heating installations

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system is a proven solution for modern piping installations - tees from this line are used to create branches in potable water, central heating, and industrial applications. The element with a diameter of 18 mm (DN 15) is made of 1.4401 (CrNiMo) grade stainless steel, commonly known as 316 steel - this material contains molybdenum, which increases resistance to pitting corrosion, which is particularly important in water supply installations.

The branch angle is 90°, and the design is equal-diameter (straight-through) - all three connections have the same nominal diameter, which ensures equal flow resistance and eliminates unnecessary pressure losses in the circuit.

Application and compatibility

The tee finds application in three main areas:

• Sanitary installations - potable water distribution in residential and public utility buildings,
• Heating installations - distribution of heating circuits, connections of risers and manifolds,
• Industry and marine engineering - applications requiring chemical resistance and high connection durability.

Each of the three connections is a compression sleeve with an M profile, designed to be pressed with Geberit Mapress system jaws. This makes installation fast and repeatable - the installer does not need to weld or thread pipes on-site.

The wall thickness of each connection is 1 mm - typical for Mapress Edelstahl system pipes with a diameter of 18 mm. All surfaces are in a raw state, without additional anti-corrosion treatment - the stainless steel itself provides a protective barrier.

An important structural element is the press indicator - a characteristic groove or indentation visible on the sleeve before performing the connection. Only a correctly performed jaw press makes the connection leak-proof. Until pressing, the element remains non-leak-proof - this is a deliberate solution allowing for easy corrections during the installation stage.

The sleeve of each connection is closed with a transparent protective cap, which protects the interior from contamination during transport and storage.

Operating parameters and materials

Sealing is provided by black rings made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber). This material withstands contact with potable water and typical heating agents well - the installer does not need to worry about the chemical compatibility of the seal with standard media in installations.

The working pressure at a temperature of 20°C is 16 bar, which covers the requirements of most domestic and industrial installations. The design is also characterized by high tensile strength - the connection does not weaken the pipe at the branch point as much as, for example, welded pipe tees.

The weight of the entire element is only 86 grams, which facilitates transport and handling during installation even in hard-to-reach places.
