Professional stainless steel pipe connections

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl Tee is a pressfitting system component designed for creating bifurcations in piping installations. The product with a diameter of 22 mm (DN 20) is made of 316 (1.4401) stainless steel - a CrNiMo alloy that features enhanced resistance to corrosion and chemical agents compared to standard stainless steel grades.

The walls of all three connections have a thickness of 1,2 mm, ensuring high mechanical strength while maintaining the optimal mass of the entire component.

The Tee has a 90° angle and is an equal tee model - all three branches have the same nominal and external diameter of 22 mm. The connections are made in the form of a press socket with an M jaw contour, which means compatibility with widely used crimping jaws of this profile on the market. The working lengths of the individual branches are 16 mm for the side connections and 23 mm for the central branch - this difference results from the geometry of the fitting and facilitates correct pipe seating during installation.

Construction and pressing system

Each connection is equipped with a pressed socket with a transparent protective cap, which protects the seal from contamination and damage during transport and storage. The cap is removed directly before installation - thanks to the transparent material, the condition of the seal can be inspected beforehand without disturbing it.

The Tee is equipped with a press indicator - a characteristic element of the Geberit Mapress system informing about the correct execution of the connection. This is an important practical solution: the connection only remains leak-proof after correct pressing. In case of an error or improper pressing of the jaws, the installation will not be leak-proof, which eliminates the risk of an undetected leak during pressure testing.

The seal is made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) in black - a material with good thermal and chemical resistance, dedicated to various working media.

Applications and medium compatibility

The component belongs to the Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system, which is used in three main areas:

• Building services - sanitary and heating installations in residential and public utility buildings,

• Industry - technological installations conveying industrial gases,

• Marine construction - specific requirements of this sector regarding corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.

Regarding gaseous media, the tee can be used for industrial gases, such as acetylene and shielding gases for welding. This confirms the system's ability to work with chemically aggressive substances under industrial conditions.

The maximum working pressure at a temperature of 20°C is 16 bar, which allows the fitting to be used in both typical domestic installations (working pressure around 3-4 bar) and industrial installations with higher parameters.

Operating parameters and design features

The Tee is a single-piece component - it is not a multi-piece or reducing model, which simplifies order logistics and eliminates the risk of incorrect reduction selection when expanding the installation. The surface of all connections remains in a raw state (uncoated), which is a standard solution for stainless steel pressfitting systems - the material itself forms a passive layer protecting against corrosion.

The fitting has high tensile strength (high tensile strength) - a parameter important when designing installations exposed to mechanical loads or thermal variable stresses. The component is factory-sealed with a transparent cover, and the M contour ensures compatibility with pressing tools available on the market.
