The Geberit Mapress coupling with a diameter of 15 mm is an element of the press-fit connection system used in sanitary, heating, and industrial installations, as well as on marine vessels. Made of 316 stainless steel (CrNiMo 1.4401 according to DIN EN 10088), it ensures a durable and leak-proof connection of pipes in pressure systems.

Technical design and principle of operation

The coupling features bilateral M-type press connections - full compatibility with Geberit Mapress system press jaws guarantees wide tool availability on the market. Each connection has a length of 24 mm and a wall thickness of 1 mm; the total length of the element is 48 mm. The nominal diameter DN12 corresponds to the 15 mm outer pipe dimension - a standard dimension used in domestic water and heating installations.

A working pressure of up to 16 bar at 20°C allows the coupling to be used in both typical domestic installations and more demanding industrial systems. High tensile strength is crucial for branching connections and critical points in the installation.

The seal consists of a black chloroprene rubber (CIIR) ring, resistant to aging and the action of typical media encountered in installations. A transparent protective plug, factory-fitted onto the coupling, serves a dual role: it protects the seal from contamination during transport and acts as an indicator of correct seating - its presence informs that the seal has not been damaged or displaced before assembly.

The press connection does not require welding or threading - simply slide the coupling onto the pipe and perform the pressing with M-profile press jaws. The absence of hot work eliminates the need to obtain additional fire permits on the construction site and reduces the risk of damage to surrounding materials.

Protection against installation errors

One of the key features of the Geberit Mapress coupling is the "unverpresst undicht" function - leakage before pressing is visible even during the initial test filling of the installation. If the installer forgets or inaccurately performs the press connection, the element will leak - this eliminates the risk of hidden leaks appearing only after walls are closed or grooves are covered.
