Geberit Mapress Edelstahl System - coupling DN 20

The coupling with an outer diameter of 22 mm (DN 20) belongs to the Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system, which has been a standard in sanitary, heating, and industrial installations for years. This component serves as a coupling connection - it enables the extension of a pipe or the connection of two sections in a leak-proof manner after performing the crimp with a pressing tool.

Construction and materials

The coupling body is made of 316 stainless steel (grade 1.4401 / CrNiMo) - a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy according to the DIN EN 10088 standard. This ensures high corrosion resistance in humid conditions and contact with drinking water and aggressive technical media.

Each connection has a length of 25 mm, a wall thickness of 1.2 mm, and an effective pressing length of 4 mm. The M crimp profile indicates compatibility with the widely used pressing jaws of this system - the installer does not need dedicated tools outside of the standard equipment.

The set includes a black sealing ring made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber), which guarantees tightness at temperatures from -30°C to +120°C. The coupling is supplied with a transparent protective plug closing the opening until assembly - a practical solution on the construction site when the element is waiting for installation.

Operating parameters and system features

The maximum working pressure at 20°C is 16 bar, which allows the coupling to be used in both domestic installations (hot/cold water, heating) and in larger industrial or fire protection systems.

An important feature of the system is the "unverpresst undicht" function - the coupling remains leaky before the crimp is performed. For the installer, this is crucial information: if the connection has not been pressed, it is immediately visible during the pressure test. This eliminates the risk of a hidden installation error.

The Mapress Edelstahl system is marked as systemgebunden (system-bound), which means full compatibility with the other elements of the series - elbows, tees, reducers, and other couplings in size DN 20 / d22.
