/br>The Geberit Mapress coupling with a diameter of 28 mm is a fundamental installation element in the stainless steel pressfitting system. Made of CrNiMo 1.4401 steel (equivalent to AISI 316), it is characterized by high corrosion resistance and mechanical strength - confirmed by KIWA and DVGW certificates for drinking water as well as TÜV approvals. /br>#### Construction and technical characteristics /br>The coupling is equipped with a CIIR seal (chlorobutadiene rubber) in black, which ensures connection tightness across a wide range of operating temperatures - from −30°C to +120°C. Wall thicknesses of 1.2 mm with an outer pipe diameter of 28 mm and an overall length of 54 mm guarantee durability at a working pressure of up to 16 bar (at 20°C). Both ends of the coupling have identical parameters - connection length 27 mm, working length 4 mm, clamping profile M-Kontur - enabling a symmetrical connection of two pipes or elements. /br>An important design solution is the press indicator and the transparent protective cap. Until the fitting is pressed with the jaws, it remains unsealed - this eliminates the risk of installation errors during the pressure testing stage. /br>#### Scope of applications /br>The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system is suitable for domestic, industrial, and marine installations: /br>* Drinking water - hot and cold. /br>* Central Heating and Domestic Hot Water (CHW) - water heating installations, also with glycol additives. /br>* District heating - up to a temperature of 120°C. /br>* Sprinklers and fire protection systems - approved for wet extinguishing systems. /br>* Compressed air - oil cleanliness class 0-3. /br>* Inert and industrial gases - nitrogen and shielding gases for welding. /br>* Sewage and rainwater - at pH >6.0. /br>/br>The manufacturer also permits use with saturated steam (up to 120°C), cooling circuits, process applications, as well as with chemicals and technical media. /br>#### Installation and use /br>The connection is made using M-profile pressing jaws - universal for the entire Mapress Edelstahl line. Before pressing, the coupling remains open, allowing for free maneuvering of the pipe during the installation routing. Once the elements are aligned, only one pressing cycle is required to achieve a durable and tight connection. /br>/br>The fitting is a system component - it requires the use of Geberit Mapress pipes or other compatible stainless steel conduits with a nominal diameter of DN 25.
