Geberit Mapress stainless steel coupling: d=42mm 32007
Press connection system for demanding installations
The Geberit Mapress press fitting with an outer diameter of 42 mm (DN40) is made of CrNiMo stainless steel according to the DIN EN 10088 standard - grade 1.4401, commonly referred to as 316L/316Ti stainless steel (depending on the context). It is this material that determines the fitting's corrosion resistance, which is crucial both for sanitary and heating installations inside public and industrial buildings, as well as for marine applications (Schiffbau).
A connection of the press fitting type with an M profile means compatibility with standard Mapress press jaws - tools dedicated to this system are sufficient, without the need for welding or brazing on the construction site.
The coupling design is simple and bilaterally symmetrical - both ends have identical parameters:
- total length 71 mm, working length 5,5 mm, wall thickness 1,5 mm
- nominal diameter DN40 on both sides - no reduction
The factory-fitted CIIR seal (chlorobutadiene rubber) is permanently mounted in the fitting's groove - the black ring ensures tightness even with a single correctly performed press with the system jaw.
Versatility of working media
The Geberit Mapress stainless steel system can handle a wide spectrum of permissible media:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Drinking water | Cold and hot |
| Heating/cooling | With or without inhibitor |
| District heating | Up to 120°C |
| Saturated steam | Up to 120°C |
| Process water | Grey/black wastewater (pH >6,0), rainwater (pH >6,0), treated water |
| Fire protection | Wet fire lines, sprinkler systems |
| Compressed gases | Air (oil class 0-3), vacuum |
| Technical gases | Nitrogen, acetylene, shielding gases |
The maximum working pressure at 20°C is 16 bar.
Structural elements important for the installer
The fitting is equipped with a press indicator - a characteristic system element informing of insufficient pressing (so-called "unverpresst undicht"). If the jaw does not close completely, the connection remains leaky - which provides a clear signal to the fitter without the need for additional pressure tests before commissioning the installation.
A transparent protective cap protects the interior of the coupling from contamination during transport and storage on the construction site.
