CrMoTi stainless steel for demanding installations

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl pipe with an outer diameter of 22 mm and a length of 6 meters is made of CrMoTi 1.4521 stainless steel (equivalent to steel 444 according to EN 10088 classification). This grade contains a titanium additive that stabilizes the austenitic structure, along with chromium and molybdenum - this combination ensures enhanced resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion compared to standard austenitic steels.

A distinguishing feature of this material in the context of heating installations is a thermal conductivity coefficient of 23 W/(m·K) - significantly higher than that of CrNiMo or CrNi steel pipes (15 W/(m·K)). This translates to more efficient heat exchange in central heating circuits and solar installations. At the same time, the thermal expansion of 0,0104 mm/(m·K) is lower than in other Mapress system steel grades - the pipe operates more stably under varying temperatures.

The internal surface roughness of 1,5 µm limits flow resistance and minimizes the accumulation of contaminants.

Press connection technology and system compatibility

The pipe is supplied as a length with a smooth end, protected by a green protective cap - the green color uniquely identifies the 1.4521 grade in the Geberit Mapress Edelstahl range (in contrast to blue for grade 1.4401). Pressing technology with dedicated Mapress system fittings is used for connections - without the need for welding or brazing.
