Geberit Mapress stainless steel reducing tee: d=22mm, d1=15mm, d2=22mm 31206
Mechanical construction
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducing tee is made of 316 (1.4401) stainless steel - a CrNiMo alloy according to the DIN EN 10088 standard. The austenitic structure of this material ensures increased corrosion resistance in humid environments and upon contact with aggressive media.
The component operates at an angle of 90° - the side branch is perpendicular to the main pipe. The socket walls have a thickness of 1.2 mm for the main connections (22 mm) and 1 mm for the reducing socket (15 mm). The difference results from a proportional reduction of the wall thickness at a smaller diameter while maintaining the same working pressure class.
The working lengths of the sockets are 16 mm (main pipe), 23 mm (reducing socket), and 16 mm. The total length of the component is approximately 68-74 mm, with a net mass of 0.101 kg.
Each connection is made as a press socket with profile code M - compatible with the Geberit Mapress system press jaws. Inside the socket, a black sealant made of butyl rubber (CIIR) is embedded - an elastomer resistant to aging and the effects of hot water.
Press socket system
Geberit Mapress technology is based on the principle "unverpresst undicht" - the element remains unpressed, not leak-tight before the pressing operation is performed. During installation, the pipe is inserted into the socket until it stops (the CIIR seal provides a preliminary seal), then the press jaws are placed on the socket and the pressing is performed.
No soldering or welding is required - which significantly shortens installation time and eliminates the risk of welding errors. A transparent protective cap, factory-fitted onto the socket, protects the seal from contamination during transport and storage.
After correct pressing, a permanent, inseparable pipe connection is formed.
Operating parameters
The maximum working pressure at 20°C is 16 bar. The component is characterized by high tensile strength - an important feature for installations exposed to mechanical or thermal stresses.
The reducing tee allows for the division of the medium flow into two circuits of different diameters - it is ideal for connecting smaller circuits to the main installation risers or creating bypasses in pipes with varying diameters.
The manufacturer declares suitability for the construction sector, industry, and shipbuilding. Typical applications include central heating and domestic hot water installations in residential and public buildings, cooling and air conditioning networks, and process water transmission systems.
The element is compatible with Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system pipes with outer diameters of 22 mm and 15 mm. The M profile code ensures compatibility with standard system jaws - the same tools handle the entire size range of the Mapress Edelstahl series.
