The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducing tee enables the creation of a branch with a smaller diameter in an existing pipeline run. The fitting, made of 316 (1.4401) grade stainless steel - according to the DIN EN 10088 standard - is suitable for both drinking water installations and heating systems. The design ensures a durable and leak-proof connection after crimping with an M profile using appropriate jaws.

Material and pressure resistance

The core of the tee is made of a high-alloy chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel alloy, which guarantees corrosion resistance in demanding operating conditions. The wall thickness at the connections is 1,0 mm for the reduced branch (15 mm) and 1,2 mm for both main sockets (28 mm). The maximum working pressure at a temperature of 20°C is 16 bar, allowing for use in typical domestic and industrial installations.

The seal consists of a ring made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) - a material resistant to aging and environmental factors. All three press fitting sockets have a raw surface finish and are designed for crimping with the M profile, which is the standard profile in the Geberit Mapress system.

Solutions facilitating installation

Each press fitting is equipped with a transparent protective cap, which protects the seal groove from contamination during transport and storage - until the moment of installation. An important structural element is the crimping indicator: if the connection is not correctly crimped with the jaws, the tee remains unsealed - which eliminates the risk of a hidden installer error.

The working lengths of the sockets are 19 mm for both 28 mm connections and 26 mm for the 15 mm reduced branch. The total length of the construction is approximately 91 mm, the height approximately 69 mm, and the depth approximately 39 mm. The weight of the component is only 0,125 kg, which facilitates handling during installation work.

Scope of applications

The d28-15-d28 reducing tee is intended for piping systems in:

• sanitary technology - drinking water and circulation installations,
• heating - manifolds, risers, and connections to radiators,
• industry - technological installations with increased medium purity requirements,
• shipbuilding - where 316 stainless steel performs well in saline environments.

The branch angle is 90°, allowing for typical vertical or horizontal take-offs from the main line. The product is supplied as a single-piece component without an air vent or drain valve - a simple reducing form without unnecessary structural additions.
