The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducing tee with dimensions 28-22-28 mm is a component of a press-fit system designed for creating branches in piping installations. The design allows for the connection of two pipes with a diameter of 28 mm to a third pipe with a smaller diameter of 22 mm, enabling a smooth transition between sizes at a single installation point without the need for additional intermediate reductions.

The press socket with the characteristic "unverpresst undicht" - meaning leaky before pressing - is a systemic feature of the entire Mapress line. This means that the connection remains open until the correct pressing is performed with M profile jaws. Only then is the CIIR seal permanently pressed, guaranteeing tightness.

Material and structural resistance

The body is made of stainless steel grade 316 (1.4401) - CrNiMo according to DIN EN 10088. This is a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy with increased resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, which is particularly important in industrial and marine installations where the medium may contain chlorides or other aggressive components.

The wall thickness of each connection is 1.2 mm, ensuring high mechanical strength at a working pressure of up to 16 bar at a temperature of 20°C. The branch angle is a classic 90°, facilitating the routing of the installation path at a right angle.

Scope of applications

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system allows this tee to work with a wide spectrum of media:

• cold and hot water,
• heating water and saturated steam up to 120°C,
• cooling and heating water - also with the addition of anti-freeze agents,
• compressed air (oil cleanliness class 0-3),
• inert gases (nitrogen) and industrial gases such as acetylene or shielding gases for welding,
• wet sprinkler systems,
• chemicals and technical fluids,
• vacuum,
• grey and black wastewater with pH ≥5.5,
• rainwater with pH ≥5.5,
• treated drinking water as well as production and process water.

The tee is suitable for both domestic and commercial installations (Haustechnik), as well as in industrial facilities and shipbuilding - where material resistance to specific operating conditions is required.

Features facilitating installation

Each socket is equipped with a transparent protective cap serving as a pipe insertion depth indicator - the installer can see through it whether the pipe has been inserted to the correct depth before pressing. The black CIIR seal is factory-installed and protected by this cover from contamination during transport and storage.

For the correct execution of the connection, M profile pressing jaws are required. After pressing, the connection achieves full tightness without the need for additional thread sealing or gluing - which significantly accelerates installation work and minimizes the risk of leaks during the operation stage.

The weight of the component is only 0.134 kg, making it easy to handle even in difficult accessibility conditions.
