Reducing tees from the Geberit Mapress Edelstahl series are fundamental components of extensive piping systems in industrial, district heating, and sanitary installations. The model with dimensions 42 × 18 × 42 mm (art. no. 31217) enables connection of two pipes with an outer diameter of 42 mm with one pipe with a reduced diameter of 18 mm in a 90° angular configuration. This type of configuration is ideal for branches from main risers, connections to equipment with a smaller flow cross-section, or creating bypasses in tight installation spaces.

Construction and Press Connections

All three sockets are made of stainless steel grade 316 (1.4401) - a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy resistant to intergranular corrosion and chloride attack. The connection surfaces remain in raw condition (without additional protective coating), which is standard for the Mapress system designed for pressing with profile M jaws. Wall thickness for the main socket (42 mm) is 1.5 mm, while for the reduced socket (18 mm) - 1 mm. This difference is due to the lower pressure load on the branch.

Working lengths of the sockets are respectively:

• socket Ø42 - 27 mm,
• socket Ø18 - 33 mm.

Total length of the entire element is 57 mm face-to-face for the main sockets and 53 mm for the branch socket. Factory-installed gasket made of CIIR material (chlorobutadiene rubber) ensures leak-tightness after pressing - without the need for additional sealants or tapes.

Operating Parameters and System Compatibility

Maximum working pressure at 20°C reaches 16 bar, allowing the use of the tee in medium-power heating installations and domestic water distribution systems. Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system components are dimensionally compatible - system pipes Ø15-108 mm and other fittings from the manufacturer's range with the same M pressing profile fit them.

The tee is supplied as a one-piece component without air vent and without drain valve - it is the installer's decision to optionally equip the installation with these elements on separate sections. High tensile strength confirms the element's ability to withstand mechanical loads occurring during installation and operation.

The product aligns with the quick-installation philosophy characteristic of press systems - after inserting the pipe to the full socket depth and performing the press with jaws matching profile M, the installation is ready for use without time-consuming welding or threading.
