Reducing tee Geberit Mapress stainless steel: d=42mm, d1=28mm, d2=42mm 31219
System of pre-insulated connections for demanding installations
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducing tee enables the construction of branches in stainless steel piping installations - while simultaneously changing the pipe diameter. Instead of using separate reduction elements and a tee, you receive a ready-made connection in a single component. The main diameter of 42 mm transitions into a branch of 28 mm, allowing a smooth transition from a DN40 pipe to a DN25 pipe without additional fittings.
All three ends are manufactured as compression sleeves with an M-jaw profile - compatible with widely used pressing tools for the Geberit Mapress system. This ensures fast and repeatable installation without the need for welding or threading.
Material and workmanship
The tee body is made of 316 grade stainless steel (1.4401) according to the DIN EN 10088 standard - a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy resistant to corrosion from drinking water, sewage, and many industrial media. The walls at larger connections have a thickness of 1.5 mm, and at the smaller branch 1.2 mm, ensuring high mechanical strength while maintaining a reasonable mass for the entire component.
The seal made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) guarantees a leak-proof connection as soon as the pipe is inserted - even before pressing. This is a key feature of the Mapress system: if the installer forgets to press the fitting or does so incorrectly, the connection will not be leak-proof during the pressure test. This eliminates the risk of hidden leaks during the system filling stage.
Each compression sleeve is equipped with a transparent protective cap, which protects the interior from contamination during transport and storage on the construction site.
Applications and system compatibility
Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducing tees are used in installations for:
- Building services - central heating, heating distributors, heat exchangers in residential and public utility buildings,
- Industry - technological installations conveying process water, neutral solutions, or compressed air,
- Marine engineering - onboard piping systems exposed to saline environments and mechanical loads.
The Geberit Mapress system includes a full range of system fittings and pipes in diameters from DN12 to DN100 - the reducing tee fits system pipes with symbols corresponding to the same nominal diameters. It can be connected with elbows, couplings, reducers, and valves from the Mapress Edelstahl family without the need for adapters.
Operating parameters and usage conditions
A maximum working pressure of 16 bar at a temperature of 20°C allows the tee to be used in typical water and central heating installations, as well as in older district heating systems with higher pressure parameters. The branch angle of 90° corresponds to a standard T-shaped configuration - most commonly encountered when routing risers and horizontal distributors.
The working length of each connection is in the range of 27-34 mm, and the total length of the construction is approximately 114 mm. With a weight of only 0.231 kg, the component does not excessively load supports or load-bearing structures - an important feature for installations routed on facades or in visible parts of buildings.
All surfaces remain in a raw state - without additional paint or galvanic coating. This is due to the very nature of 316 stainless steel: the passive chromium oxide layer is sufficient to protect against corrosion in conditions typical for sanitary and industrial installations.
