Stainless steel in water and heating installations

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducing tee allows for the connection of three pipe sections in one place - two with an outer diameter of 42 mm (DN40) and one with a diameter of 35 mm (DN32). The branch angle is 90°, allowing for the construction of vertical or horizontal branches in water supply and central heating installations.

All three connections are made using mufa zaciskowa technology with an M press profile, which means compatibility with widely used Geberit Mapress press jaws. Simply insert the pipe into the socket until it stops (working length is 27 mm for Ø42 connections and 35 mm for the Ø35 connection, respectively), and then press with the jaw - the CIIR seal permanently deforms during pressing and guarantees tightness without the need for welding or threading.

The material - CrNiMo 1.4401 stainless steel according to the EN 10088 standard - provides high corrosion resistance in both drinking water installations and heating systems, whether closed or open solar systems. The wall thickness of each connection is 1.5 mm, which translates to the mechanical strength of the entire component.

Operating and pressure parameters

The maximum working pressure at a temperature of 20°C reaches 16 bar, allowing for use in most residential and commercial installations - from domestic manifolds to medium-sized public utility buildings. High tensile strength confirms the component's ability to withstand installation and operational stresses without deformation.

The tee is factory-capped - each socket is closed, which protects the CIIR seal from contamination before installation and eliminates the need for additional protection of the ends on the construction site.

System compliance and application conditions

The element fits into the Uniclass CAWS classification as part of stainless steel piping systems (S15/425). The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl series includes fittings from DN12 to DN65 - the tee with catalog number 31220 serves as a reducing link between sizes DN40 and DN32 within this range.

The use of CrNiMo stainless steel makes the fitting well-suited for hard water and installations with increased chloride content - where regular carbon steel or even cheaper austenitic grades might corrode. CIIR seals are adapted for use with both cold drinking water and hot domestic water, as well as heating agents in closed central heating systems.
