Geberit Mapress stainless steel reducer with press end: d=18mm, d1=15mm 32303
Reducing reducer for sanitary installations
This component is used to create a smooth transition between pipes with diameters of 18 mm and 15 mm in installation systems based on compression fittings. The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducer is suitable for both residential buildings, industrial facilities, and marine vessels – wherever reliability and durability of pipe connections are required.
Design and connection system
The component is equipped with a press coupling on the DN15 side and a spigot on the DN12 side – both made of CrNiMo stainless steel (grade 1.4401). This combination of connections accelerates installation and ensures tightness after a single press with Geberit Mapress system jaws with an M profile.
The reducer is factory-equipped with a CIIR rubber seal and a transparent protective cap on the press socket. For the entire dimensional range of the system, contour sealing rings for diameters 12-54 mm and round sealing rings for diameters 76-108 mm are also available.
Applications and operating conditions
- Potable water - cold and hot domestic water installations up to 100°C at pressures up to 16 bar
- Heating and cooling - circuits without or with anti-freeze agents (up to 120°C, subject to additional consultation with the manufacturer)
- District heating - operating temperature up to 140°C
- Saturated steam - maximum 155°C at pressures up to 4.5 bar
- Fire protection systems - wet/dry fire extinguishing water and sprinkler systems
- Solar energy - range from −25°C to +220°C at pressures up to 16 bar (requires Geberit approval)
- Industrial water and precipitation - at pH > 6.0
The maximum operating pressure at a temperature of 20°C is 16 bar, which corresponds to domestic and industrial installation standards.
Installation safety and quality control
One of the key features of the Geberit Mapress system is the leak detection mechanism before pressing - if the connection is not correctly clamped by the jaw, the component remains leaky during the pressure test stage. This eliminates the risk of a hidden installation error.
The system is certified by DVGW according to working sheet W534 (July 2015 edition) and meets the requirements of the DIN 1988 standard regarding potable water installations. CIIR seals comply with the current assessment bases of the Umweltbundesamt, confirming their safety in contact with water intended for human consumption.
The reducer has an overall length of 55 mm and a weight of only 38 g, intended for installation in residential buildings, industrial facilities, and marine vessels.
