The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl sliding coupling with a diameter of 22 mm is a key element of stainless steel piping systems, designed for fast and secure pipe connection in pressure installations. Thanks to its construction from high-grade CrNiMo 1.4401 stainless steel (compliant with DIN EN 10088) and the use of proven compression connections, this coupling ensures a durable and leak-proof connection resistant to corrosion and mechanical loads.

Construction and materials

The coupling is made of 316 (1.4401) stainless steel - a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy that is distinguished by increased resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion compared to standard stainless steels. The connection wall thickness is 1,2 mm, which ensures adequate stiffness while maintaining the optimal mass of the entire component.

Both sides of the coupling are press fittings with a connection length of 42 mm and a working length of 17 mm, adapted for use with M profile compression jaws. This solution allows for precise positioning of the pipe in the coupling before the pressing process - the element can be freely moved along the axis before clamping, which significantly facilitates installation in hard-to-reach places.

Sealing is provided by a black butyl rubber (CIIR) sealing ring, resistant to many media transported in installations. The coupling is additionally equipped with a transparent protective cap, which protects the interior of the element from contamination during transport and storage.

• Compressed air - pneumatic installations with oil cleanliness class 0-3,
• Inert gases - nitrogen and industrial gases (e.g., acetylene, shielding gases for welding),
• Domestic and industrial wastewater - at a medium pH >6,0,
• Technical and chemically treated water,
• Rainwater - at pH >6,0.

Due to the versatility of the material and seals, the coupling is suitable for residential and public utility buildings, as well as industrial facilities and shipyards.

Operating parameters and functional features

The Geberit Mapress sliding coupling d=22 mm achieves a maximum working pressure of 16 bar at a temperature of 20°C, allowing its use in typical water and central heating installations as well as many industrial systems. The total length of the element is 84 mm, and the nominal connection diameter corresponds to DN20.

A particularly important functional feature is the press indicator - the coupling remains unsealed in an unpressed state, which allows for easy detection of a missed clamp before the installation is commissioned. This feature significantly reduces the risk of installation errors and downtime resulting from leaks.

Installed using appropriate M profile press jaws, the coupling creates a durable connection that requires no additional sealing or maintenance throughout the entire service life of the installation.
