Installation system for industrial and domestic media
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducing tee with connection diameters of 18 × 15 × 18 mm is a press-fitting system component made of CrNiMo stainless steel according to DIN EN 10088 (grade 1.4401 / AISI 316). The 90° angle design allows the medium flow to be split into three directions - one branch has a smaller nominal diameter DN12, while the other two operate in size DN15.
The press socket on each of the three connections requires tightening with an M-profile press jaw. The wall thickness of each connection is 1 mm, ensuring high tensile strength and allowing for a working pressure of up to 16 bar at a temperature of 20°C. The working lengths of the connections range from 14 to 21 mm, facilitating fitment into existing pipeline routes.
The seal made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) guarantees tightness after correct pressing. The characteristic press indicator and the unverpresst undicht (leaking if not pressed) function allow for unambiguous verification of the connection's correctness - the installer can immediately see whether the fitting has been correctly installed.
Scope of application
The component is suitable for both domestic and industrial installations. It is intended, among others, for:
- potable water - cold and hot,
- heating and cooling water - both with and without the addition of anti-freeze agents,
- district heating water up to 120°C and saturated steam up to 120°C,
- process and industrial waters,
- treated water and rainwater with pH >6.0,
- grey and black water with pH >6.0,
- sprinkler systems and fire protection networks (wet),
- compressed air (oil cleanliness class 0-3),
- inert gases (e.g., nitrogen), industrial gases (e.g., acetylene), and vacuum.
Approved for use in high-tech, industry, and shipbuilding.
Materials and design features
The tee body is made of 316 grade stainless steel, which means increased corrosion resistance - especially in environments containing chlorides. The sockets are finished "raw" - without an additional protective coating on the outer surface. Each socket is equipped with a transparent protective cap shielding the seal from contamination during transport and storage.
The weight of the component is approximately 75 g. The tee is factory-capped - it does not have an air vent or a drain valve.
Installation and system compatibility
Press socket type connections require the use of press jaws with an M-profile. Before pressing, the pipe must be inserted to the full depth until it stops - the transparent cap protects the seal from being pushed out during this process. Once the pressing is performed, the component achieves full tightness; failure to press results in an immediate leak, eliminating the risk of a hidden installation error.
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system is compatible with pipes from the same system with appropriate outer diameters. When designing an installation, the working pressure of the medium and its temperature must be taken into account - these parameters influence the selection of appropriate fittings and pipes throughout the entire pipeline route.
