Press-fit system for water and heating installations
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducing tee with catalog number 31210 is a piping system component made of stainless steel grade 1.4401 (AISI 316) - CrNiMo steel according to DIN EN 10088 standard. The T-shaped design enables connection of three pipe sections at a 90° angle, with one of the connections having a smaller outer diameter (18 mm), allowing transition from DN25 to DN15 without additional reducers.
The use of press-sleeves on all three ends enables pipe connection by inserting the pipes fully and pressing with press jaws according to the M profile.
Material and construction resistance
Stainless steel 316 (1.4401) is characterized by corrosion resistance thanks to its chromium, nickel, and molybdenum content. The connection walls have a thickness of 1.2 mm for the main size (28 mm) and 1 mm for the reducing branch (18 mm). The element weight is 129 g.
The gasket made of CIIR guarantees a leak-tight connection. Maximum working pressure at 20°C is 16 bar.
Press-fit system operating principle
Each press-sleeve is equipped with a transparent protective cap, which protects the gasket from contamination and serves as a pressing point indicator. The transparent housing enables verification of proper pipe seating before pressing.
The key feature of the Geberit Mapress system is the "unverpresst undicht" principle - an unpressed connection remains leaking. Attempting to start up the installation without proper pressing immediately reveals any missing pressing points.

The working lengths of individual connections (19 mm, 26 mm, 19 mm) take into account the dimensions of typical press jaws and enable installation even in confined spaces between building partitions.
