Reducing tee for press systems made of stainless steel
This component enables the creation of a branch with a smaller diameter in a pipe line - from the main size 54 mm (DN50) to a 15 mm (DN12) connection. The branch angle is 90°, allowing the side section to be routed vertically or horizontally relative to the main axis.
All three connections are made using press fitting technology with M jaw profiles, which means compatibility with widely used Geberit Mapress pressing tools. The surfaces are in a raw state - without additional protective coating, which is standard for components intended for pressing in the press system.
Material and working pressure
The body is made of 316 grade stainless steel (1.4401) - a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy classified as CrNiMo according to the EN 10088 standard. It provides increased corrosion resistance compared to standard austenitic steel, especially in humid environments and when in contact with various media.
The maximum working pressure at 20°C is 16 bar. The main connection walls have a thickness of 1,5 mm, while the reducing branch is 1 mm. This difference results from the lower flow load on the DN12 branch and is typical for reducing tees in this system.
The seal made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) guarantees a leak-proof connection after a single press - without the need for welding or threading.
Dimensions and working lengths
| Connection | Diameter | DN | Wall thickness | Total length | Working length |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Main (×2) | 54 mm | DN50 | 1,5 mm | 69 mm | 34 mm |
| Branch | 15 mm | DN12 | 1 mm | 59 mm | 39 mm |
Long working lengths facilitate inserting the pipe into the socket and the correct positioning of the element before pressing. The compact one-piece construction eliminates the risk of leaks resulting from play between segments.
Application and system compatibility
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducing tee is suitable for installations in:
- water - cold and hot water, domestic and industrial installations,
- heating - manifolds, risers,
- compressed air - pneumatic networks,
- industrial - transport of chemically non-aggressive media.
The component is part of the complete Mapress Edelstahl system, which includes pipes, elbows, reducers, valves, and adapters. M profiles allow for integration with other Geberit catalog elements without the need for adapters.
