Geberit Mapress Edelstahl System - tee for press connections

A reducing tee with dimensions 54-18-54 mm made of 1.4401 (316) grade stainless steel is part of the Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system. It is an element of a multi-layer piping installation, in which two main arms have a diameter of DN50 (54 mm), while the side branch has been reduced to DN15 (18 mm) - this allows for connecting a smaller diameter to a larger pipe without the need for additional adapters.

Construction and design

The tee body is made of high-quality CrNiMo stainless steel in a grade compliant with the EN 10088 standard. The wall thickness at the main connections is 1.5 mm, while at the reduced branch it is 1 mm. Each connection is a press socket with an M jaw profile, which means compatibility with the widely used Mapress system press jaws.

An important design feature is the factory-installed seal made of CIIR material - chlorobutadiene rubber, which is resistant to aging and external factors. Thanks to this, the element is delivered fully ready for installation; the installer only installs the seal themselves in the event of a potential replacement.

The tee is factory-capped and does not have an air vent or a drain valve - this is the standard configuration for this type of through fittings.

Operating parameters and service conditions

The maximum working pressure at a temperature of 20°C is 16 bar. The branch angle is 90°, which provides a classic T-piece configuration and facilitates routing pipes at a right angle to the main axis.

• Reduced connection no. 2: 39 mm
• Main connection no. 3: 34 mm

High tensile strength allows the tee to be used in installations exposed to mechanical loads - Mapress system pipes transfer installation stresses without deformation.

Application and system compatibility

The Geberit Mapress reducing tee is intended for water, heating, and industrial installations. It is effective in the construction of extensive piping networks where there is a need to divert a medium stream into a smaller diameter pipe - a typical scenario in central heating, ventilation, or technological installations.

The Mapress Edelstahl system includes a full range of through and reducing fittings in diameters from DN12 to DN100 and system pipes in grades 1.4401 and 1.4521. Reducing tees are available in many dimensional combinations - e.g., for the main size DN50, the manufacturer also offers versions with branches DN15, DN20, DN22, DN28, DN35, and DN42.

The press socket eliminates the need for welding or threading - the connection is made by inserting the pipe into the socket and pressing it with press jaws. The absence of hot work makes the element suitable for installation in finished rooms and where welding is impossible or undesirable.
