Geberit Mapress stainless steel reducing tee: d=54mm, d1=35mm, d2=54mm 31225

Reducing tee for water and heating installations

This element enables the connection of three pipe sections at right angles, where one of the arms has a smaller diameter than the others - hence the name "reducing". Specifically, it refers to the 54 mm → 35 mm → 54 mm configuration, which allows for a smooth transition from a DN50 pipe to a DN32 pipe without additional threaded or welded reductions.

It finds application in both potable water installations and central heating systems - the manufacturer specifies these areas as the primary purpose of the Mapress Edelstahl series.

Construction and material

The body is made of 316 (1.4401) grade stainless steel - a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy that is distinguished by increased corrosion resistance compared to standard austenitic steel. This is particularly important in potable water installations, where steels with lower resistance may be subject to contact corrosion.

The wall thickness at each connection is 1.5 mm, ensuring high mechanical strength while maintaining a reasonable mass for the entire element - the tee weighs just under 380 grams. The working lengths of the individual sockets range from 34 to 41 mm, facilitating fitting into existing pipe routes.

The seal is made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) - a material resistant to aging, hot water, and most heat transfer media used in heating installations.

Press connection system and principle of operation

All three ends are press fittings with an M jaw profile. Installation consists of sliding the pipe onto the socket and tightening the sleeve with a mechanical press - without welding, threading, or gluing.

An important feature of the Geberit Mapress system is the so-called press indicator: until the connection is pressed, it remains leaky. This practically eliminates the risk of error on the construction site - the installer can immediately see which connections still require processing. Additionally, each sleeve is equipped with a transparent protective cap, which protects the inside of the socket from contamination before installation.

The maximum working pressure at 20°C is 16 bar, which covers typical requirements for both domestic heating installations (usually up to 3 bar) and larger industrial networks.

Scope of application and compatibility

Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducing tees are available in a wide range of diameter combinations - from DN12 up to DN100 - allowing for the design of branches at practically any stage of installation without the need for additional reducing transitions.

The manufacturer declares suitability not only for municipal and industrial installations but also in shipbuilding, where requirements for durability and tightness are particularly stringent.

When choosing a reducing tee, pay attention to the diameter configuration - here you are dealing with a DN32 side arm with two DN50 main arms. If you need a different combination or a tee without reduction, the series also includes equal tees with identical diameters for both outlets.
