Stainless steel in the Geberit Mapress system

Reducing tees from the Mapress Edelstahl series are made of 1.4401 grade stainless steel (equivalent to AISI 316) - an austenitic chromium-nickel-molybdenum steel, resistant to corrosion. The molybdenum content increases resistance to disinfectants and seawater.

Fittings are supplied with factory-installed CIIR seals - a chloroprene elastomer approved for contact with drinking water and the transport of selected industrial media.

Socket connections and geometric parameters

The tee with a 54-42-54 mm configuration features two main branches DN50 and one reducing branch DN40. All three connections are compression sockets with an M-profile - compatible with press jaws standard for the entire Mapress system.

The wall thickness at each connection is 1.5 mm, ensuring high mechanical strength while maintaining compact dimensions. Working lengths fall within the range of 34-41 mm, which facilitates pipeline routing even in tight installation spaces.

The maximum working pressure at 20°C is 16 bar - sufficient for most central heating installations and domestic water manifolds in residential and public buildings.

Practical applications

Reducing tees are ideal anywhere the medium flow must be taken by a smaller diameter - when connecting a riser to a level, branching to devices with lower flow, or during transitions between pipeline sizes.

1.4401 steel is approved for contact with drinking water - domestic water installations are not a problem. The temperature range covers the operating conditions of boilers and heating systems - central heating is also an area of application. At pressures within the limits for a given diameter, compressed air is also suitable.

The Geberit Mapress system includes a full range of elements: elbows, reducers, sliding sleeves, ball and flange valves, and fittings with internal and external inch threads. The designer receives a consistent set of components - without mixing manufacturers - which simplifies delivery logistics and guarantees uniform parameters for press connections throughout the entire pipeline route.

System compatibility

Geberit Mapress Edelstahl is a complete system of press fittings developed for sanitary, heating, and industrial installations. In addition to reducing tees, the range includes 90° and 45° elbows, sliding sleeves allowing for thermal expansion compensation, reducers between diameters, and ball valves for shutting off individual branches of the installation.

Adapters allow for the connection of Mapress steel pipes with Mepla multilayer pipes and PushFit and FlowFit systems - providing flexibility when expanding existing installations or modernizing with elements from other manufacturers where necessary.

For larger diameters (from DN65 upwards), PN10/16 flanges are available, enabling connection to central manifolds or pump sets - a typical solution in boiler rooms and heat substations of public buildings.
