Geberit Mapress transition fitting in stainless steel version is part of an installation system designed for creating pipe connections in water supply and central heating installations. Thanks to the pressing technology, installation is quick and does not require welding or threading processes on site – only press jaws with M-profile are needed, which are standard equipment in most professional tool kits for the Mapress system.

Construction and Materials

The fitting body is made of stainless steel grade 316 (1.4401), which provides high corrosion resistance and mechanical durability in demanding operating conditions. The pipe wall at the first connection has a thickness of 1.2 mm, and the total working length of the connection is 21 mm – these are important dimensions when designing pipeline routes and selecting thermal compensation.

The second connection is a cylindrical internal thread according to the BSPT-Rp (ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1) standard with nominal diameter Rp 1/2''. This type of thread guarantees leak-tight connection with threaded pipes or fittings having external R thread, without the need for additional gaskets – only appropriate sealing material for cylindrical threads is required.

The fitting is supplied as a capped element, which protects the interior during transport and storage from contamination. The built-in seal made of chlorobutadiene rubber (CIIR) is already factory-installed, eliminating one installation step.

Practical Application

The product works well as a transition element between Mapress system pipe with outer diameter 22 mm (nominally DN20) and an installation made using threaded technology – for example, when connecting risers to manifolds, attaching fittings, or creating branches in places where maintaining pipe continuity is not possible or practical.

Pressing technology ensures durable and leak-tight connection in a single pressing cycle – there is no need for soldering or welding, which significantly reduces working time and eliminates the risk of installation errors. High tensile strength confirms the joint's ability to withstand mechanical loads typical of closed-loop installations.
