The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl transition coupling enables a durable connection between a Mapress system pipe with an outer diameter of 35 mm (DN32) and a threaded installation element with a diameter of Rp 1¼". This makes it ideal anywhere an installation requires a transition from a press system to a traditional internal thread - without the need for welding or brazing.

Construction and materials

The coupling body is made of 316 stainless steel (grade 1.4401 according to DIN EN 10088) - a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy that features enhanced resistance to hydrogen and pitting corrosion compared to standard austenitic steel. This is particularly important in industrial and marine installations where operating conditions can be aggressive.

The M type press connection requires the use of M-profile jaws - standard for the Mapress Edelstahl system. The pipe wall thickness at the connection is 1,5 mm, ensuring high mechanical strength of the entire joint. The total length of the coupling is 49 mm, with a press sleeve length of 26 mm and a threaded part length of 23 mm.

The seal made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) is factory-fitted into the body - this eliminates the risk of installation error when selecting seals manually.

Installation and operation

Pressverbindung technology allows for a connection without welding or brazing - all that is required are press jaws with the appropriate M profile and a press tool. This significantly shortens installation time and eliminates hot work on the construction site.

A key solution here is the press indicator - a characteristic structural element signaling an incorrectly executed connection. If the coupling remains unpressed, the connection will leak as soon as the medium flows - which eliminates the risk of a hidden leak being detected only after the grooves are closed.

Included is a transparent protective cap placed on the press sleeve during transport and storage - protecting the seal from contamination before installation.
