Geberit Mapress system pressfitting - fast installation without welding

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl transition coupling belongs to one of the most popular installation systems on the market. It combines the advantages of a press connection (pressfitting) on the pipe side and an internal thread on the receiver side - making it a universal connection element.

The pressfitting connection eliminates the need for welding or soldering. M-profile press jaws are sufficient to create a durable and leak-proof connection in just one press cycle. This significantly accelerates installation work, especially in areas with difficult access.

Construction and materials

The body is made of 316 grade stainless steel (1.4401) - a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy that features enhanced corrosion resistance compared to standard AISI 304 stainless steel. The molybdenum in the composition improves resistance to chlorides, making the component suitable for installations exposed to high-salinity water or industrial environments.

The pipe walls have a thickness of 1,5 mm, ensuring high mechanical strength for the entire connection.

Seals made of chlorobutadiene rubber (CIIR) guarantee tightness within the standard operating temperature range of water and heating installations.

The surfaces of both connections remain in a raw state - without additional processing or coatings, which is typical for this Geberit product segment.

Application and dimensions

The coupling enables a transition from a system stainless steel pipe with an outer diameter of 42 mm (DN 40) to threaded fittings or devices with an internal thread of Rp 1½". A compact overall length of 53 mm allows for use even in limited installation spaces. The press fitting has a length of 30 mm, and the threaded part is 23 mm - both sides have an identical working length of 2 mm.

The Mapress Edelstahl system is designed for water installations (cold and hot domestic water) and heating systems. The product has high tensile strength, which translates to the durability of connections under the pressure conditions characteristic of this type of installation.
