Durable connection of pipe to steel internal thread

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl transition coupling is used to connect stainless steel system pipes with installation components - such as fittings, valves, or devices finished with a cylindrical thread. The press-fit coupling with a diameter of 42 mm (DN 40) transitions into an internal thread Rp 1 1/4" (DN 32), allowing for compatibility with typical domestic, industrial, and marine installations.

Mapress Edelstahl System and scope of application

Geberit Mapress is a complete system of press-fit fittings designed for diverse installations. The component made of CrNiMo 1.4401 (AISI 316) stainless steel withstands mechanical loads well and is resistant to corrosion - it is suitable for both concealed and shaft installations.

The coupling operates in installations:

• potable water - cold and hot, provided that the water parameters fall within the limits specified by current sanitary regulations,
• central heating - traditional heating systems and modern low-temperature installations,
• sprinkler systems and other fixed fire suppression systems,
• process water, rainwater, and recirculation water,
• oil-free compressed air and inert gases (non-toxic, non-flammable).

The system is also used in the chemical and energy industries - where high medium purity is required.

Construction and functional features

The press-fit coupling has a total length of 51 mm, with the pipe end being 30 mm and the threaded part being 21 mm. The pipe wall thickness is 1.5 mm. The Rp 1 1/4" thread is manufactured in the BSPT-Rp cylindrical standard in accordance with ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1 norms, ensuring connection tightness when using standard flat gaskets or Teflon tape.

An important design feature is the "unverpresst undicht" solution - tightness is only achieved after correct pressing with M-profile jaws. Until the fitting is installed, the connection remains open, eliminating the risk of accidental leakage during pressure tests or finishing work on the construction site.

The built-in pressing indicator allows for a visual assessment of the correctness of the pressing without specialized measuring equipment. The coupling is supplied with a transparent protective cap to protect the interior from contamination before installation.

The CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) seal guarantees tightness within a temperature range from −30°C to +120°C.

Installation and operating conditions

The product weighs approximately 207 g, which, combined with its compact dimensions, facilitates transport and installation even in confined spaces. M-profiles fit standard Geberit pressing jaws - the installer does not need dedicated tools from outside the Mapress ecosystem.

Installation, commissioning, and maintenance must be performed by authorized installation companies - this applies especially to sanitary, fire protection, and industrial installations.
