Transition between press system and thread

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl transition coupling enables a transition from a Mapress system pipe to an external BSPT-R thread - this allows installers to seamlessly connect pipe sections to threaded fittings, valves, or end-user devices equipped with standard threaded connections.

Construction and materials

The coupling body is made of CrNiMo-Stahl 1.4401 stainless steel according to the DIN EN 10088 standard - this grade is suitable for sanitary, industrial, and marine installations.

The press connection has an M profile - a compression sleeve with an outer diameter of 15 mm and a wall thickness of 1 mm corresponds to the nominal size DN12/15; the total length of the element is 41 mm, and the length of the press connection itself is 20 mm.

The threaded side is a tapered external BSPT-R thread according to ISO 7-1 and EN 10226-1 standards with a size of R 1/2". The CIIR seal seated in the groove ensures the tightness of the threaded connection without the need for PTFE tape or sealing pastes.

System functions

The coupling features a press indicator signaling a correctly executed connection - insufficient jaw pressure leaves the element leaking, which eliminates the risk of a hidden installation error. The sleeve is closed by a transparent cap protecting against contamination during transport and storage before installation.

Due to its high tensile strength, the element is suitable for installations operating under working pressures typical for heating and sanitary systems - the stainless steel maintains its mechanical parameters over a wide temperature range.

The element has a compact design - the threaded side protrudes approximately 21 mm from the body; the unit mass is around 58 g. The M profiles used by Geberit are compatible with standard press jaws used for this profile by most installation tool manufacturers - the installer can use their existing jaws without the need to purchase dedicated accessories outside of the typical installation crew's equipment.
