Precise connection of threaded pipe in the Geberit Mapress system

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl transition coupling enables the connection of a system pipe with an outer diameter of 22 mm to a 3/4 inch BSPT-R tapered external thread. Made of CrNiMo stainless steel 1.4401 (EN 10088) - the same grade as in the first and second connections - it ensures material homogeneity throughout the entire piping run.

The design based on the M crimp profile on the socket side allows for a leak-proof connection only after correct pressing with jaws dedicated to this system. Until the press operation is performed, the connection remains non-leak-proof, which serves as a built-in control mechanism for the installer. The crimp indicator is visible as a characteristic structural element confirming correct compression.

The pressable socket is supplied with a transparent plastic protective cap - protecting the inside of the bell from contamination during transport and on the construction site. The seal made of CIIR guarantees tightness across a wide range of operating temperatures and pressures.

Scope of application and medium compatibility

The coupling belongs to the universal family of Geberit Mapress Edelstahl components, therefore the list of operating media is exceptionally wide:

• cooling and heating water - both without anti-freeze agents and with their addition,
• heating water up to 120°C, saturated steam up to 120°C,

The connection does not have a drain valve or air vent - it is a pure transition element, without additional fittings.

Materials and durability

Molybdenum-containing 316 (1.4401 / AISI 316) stainless steel is characterized by increased resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. This grade is ideal for installations with water of varying chemical composition and in industrial environments.

The absence of additional surface treatment (raw state) means natural passivation of the stainless steel - an oxide layer that forms spontaneously on the metal surface, providing an anti-corrosion barrier without the need for paint or galvanic coatings.
